This year I offer a pipestone carving, "Jack ".  The color of the stone is reminiscent of wallowing buffalo near the entrance to Wind Cave.  I was gifted this pipestone many years ago by a man named Jack.  It has been waiting for the right project.  Jack is currently waiting for a liver transplant.  I wish and pray healing for him...

I am an ordinary woman, sister to nine, mother to five, grandmother to seven. This bears mentioning because all this connectedness has served to make me very creative and kept me very grounded.  My inspiration comes from everywhere.  I have tried to make my home, community and relationships such that it is very OK and safe to be creative.

I like the Custer Stampede Buffalo Art Auction because it gives many artists the opportunity to impact a community, visually, economically, and socially.  We residents have witnessed the results for the past four years.  This is my fourth year as an artist in the Custer Stampede Buffalo Art Auction.
