This buffalo takes the look of raw materials - leather, stone, and metal- and refines their appearance with tooling, smooth stones, and polished metal. This represents not only an icon of the “west” but also the path the buffalo is taking in the hearts of the people. There is a well deserved return for the respect of this animal as shown through honoring the natural look and feel of South Dakota
Lorri has always had a true love of art and has a passion for learning and creating. She was born in Kentucky but has felt a call to the west and feels that South Dakota is stunningly inspiring. She moved here with her family in May 2008 to minister in Hot Springs. Lorri enjoys painting as her main medium but likes to explore and branch out in avenues such as sculpture, jewelry making, and multimedia art. She prefers to paint animals and tries to capture the personalities and character of each individual. Lorri studied art at Campbellsville University in Kentucky and had an apprenticeship with Vicki Johnson, a well known Kentucky artist.
