Custer State Park is a treasure within the Black Hills of South Dakota. “Dakota Treasure” depicts the beauty and wonders that the park offers.

On one side of the buffalo a portrait of Peter Norbeck who helped designed Custer State Park in such a way so that visitors would drive slowly to watch the wildlife and the beauty that surrounds the park. Scenes like Sylvan Lake, Needles rock formation and the majestic game lodge with buffalo grazing will be depicted.

The other side of the buffalo will showcase the wildlife that abounds the park, an eagle in flight, a buffalo lying down; a bighorn sheep, pronghorn, pheasant and a mountain lion will be featured.

The buffalo will be standing on a rock formation

After completing her art education at Cerritos College and Cal State Fullerton, Karen returned to Colorado with her husband Paul to surround herself in the grandeur of the Rocky Mountains and be closer to nature.  Karen is an accomplished fine artist and her artwork has been accepted in many local and national art shows.  This is Karen’s fifth Custer Stampede Buffalo Art Auction.
