Before technology, life was a lot simpler.  People were more aware of all the natural things around - above and below them.  This is a picture of what those dreams may have looked like.  Made traditionally of willow and woven into a sacred circle – the web is made to trap bad dreams and allow good ones to drift gently down the soft feathers below.  Dream catchers are a beautiful part of Native American mythology.  They take us back to a time when dreams were magical visions and the beauty of nature was not occasionally enjoyed, but a way of life. We are reminded of the simple natural beauty and the undiscovered mysteries of life still there today.

Butterflies – By Robert Bach
The mark of your ignorance
Is the depth of your belief in injustice and tragedy
What the caterpillar calls the end of the world
The Master calls a butterfly

LoRae is 32 years old and has lived in Custer with her two children since 1989.  She is a waitress at Baker’s Bakery.  Art is something she has always enjoyed.  She has not gone to school but really likes color.  Her creations are a tribute to the magical beauty of the world around.
